UPLIFT Portsmouth is an intensive 8-week accelerator designed to help local small businesses grow, scale, and build long-term success. Through a powerful combination of education, mentorship, and access to capital, UPLIFT supports entrepreneurs, especially those serving emerging communities, by strengthening business models, enhancing operations, and expanding networks.
Participants join a dynamic cohort of up to 10 small businesses and gain the tools, resources, and connections needed to drive revenue growth, prepare for funding opportunities, and contribute to broader community wealth.
Program Benefits
Knowledge Capital (classes that support topics such as marketing, financial analysis and wealth building through entrepreneurship)
Social Capital (networking, mentoring, 1×1 consultations)
Financial Capital (preparation for the possibility of equity and debt capital funding)

eligibility requirements
Minimum of three years in business. Businesses in operation for less than three years will be considered on a case-by-case basis only
Owners who can provide proof of formation in Virginia.
Business with a footprint in Hampton Roads. Priority is given to Portsmouth-based businesses.
Businesses must be registered and in good standing to operate a business.
